THE BLAME GAME

You’ll hear it in any town U.S.A.

Someone is unhappy and they will say:

you make me feel sad.

you make me feel ashamed.

you kids are gonna drive

your mother insane.

you make me look stupid.

it’s all your fault.

you’re making me angry,

you should... you ought....

CHORUS

Welcome to the

blame game.

Any kind of sane brain

would recognize the

blame game

brings you only pain, pain, pain.

Welcome to the

blame game.

Win or lose, same thing.

When you play the

blame game

the prize is always

pain, pain, pain.

Kids blame their parents.

Parents blame their kids.

Spouses blame each other

what they think they did.

The Klan blames blacks.

Nazis blame Jews.

Most of us blame anyone we choose.

The poor blame the rich.

The rich blame the poor.

Countries blame each other ‘til

it ends up war.

CHORUS

I think it’s high time

the truth be told.

This irresponsibility is getting old.

Feelings come from thoughts,

my thoughts are mine.

Blaming you for them is a waste of time.

Opinions aren’t worth a hill of beans.

It ain’t what you say,

it’s what I think it means

THERE’S ONLY ONE OF US HERE

Sometimes I forget to remember,

I get so busy and lost

in the day.

I forget what I’m really

here for

and think someone else

is in my way.

But my needs are your needs,

your needs are mine.

Truth is beyond what matters in time.

CHORUS

There’s only one of us here.

Only one in a billion faces.

We are the Son of Love,

not fear.

There’s only one of us here.

On the outside

we all look so different.

On the inside,

we’re all the same.

There’s a light

shining in everyone,

perfect and pure,

love is its name.

We’re like a puzzle broken apart,

to scatter the pieces won’t change

what we are.

CHORUS

Some say they’re special.

Some feel they’re different.

Some think they’re better

than anyone else.

But all of the people we see in the world

are just other parts of our Higher Self.

And all of the sorrow,

and all of the anger

and all of the hate

we feel when we fight

are fearful expressions

of frightened children

who think they are bodies

instead of the light.
